1500 die-hard fans of the hit television show "Empire" stood outside the Harold Washington Cultural Center in the mild cold to see "Hakeem" and "Jamal"! Bryshere Gray("Hakeem") and Jussie Smollett("Jamal") were making their very first Chicago appearance to promote and autograph copies of the "Empire" original soundtrack, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. The guys have been on a whirlwind promotional tour meeting fans from around the world, which took them to New York, Atlanta, Detroit, St. Louis and other cities. I won't say where the biggest turnout was, but Chicago, where "Empire" is filmed definitely represented to the fullest! The appearances were only to sign copies of the soundtrack, but the guys couldn't resist grabbing the microphone to rap and sing along to "You're So Beautiful" and "Drip Drop"...much to the delight of their fans who joined in. Also making a surprise appearance was Chicagoan Ta'Rhonda Jones who plays "Porsha", Cookie's assistant.
